I gotta ask
what will it take for some folks to realize that TSA is out of control? One death? Ten of them? A hundred?

Yes, some of the stunts being pulled with patients with MEDICAL devices are bound to kill somebody sooner rather than later. So at that moment will you finally wake up? This is not effective in stooping terrorists. Yes, a well committed terrorist can still come through... no this could not have stopped the underwear bomber.

Yes we need security, but not SECURITY THEATER.

So how long?

In effect, how many bodies will it take?

And no, this is not hyperbole.

For the record I had the honor of having a search four years ago while on a wheelchair... and I thought it was embarrassing then.

3. Nah leave the coronary
remove sterile tube, almost instant sepsis. Will take days, a week, for a miserable death.

I am sure this concerns TSA agents with any amount of medical training.

4. There are already two cases pending

And there will likely be Congressional hearings soon.

Both cases are seeking preliminary injunctions, so I imagine "what it will take" are the preliminary briefs, a hearing, and a decision on the motions.

5. Next will be random street searches, because one looked like a terrorist. I think
it's coming to that ... and buses, trains ... pull a passenger car over and strip search them because they looked suspicious. I'm waiting for the next step to be carrying citizenship papers and lots of questions on where you were driving and why in a certain part of town. This county is on a paranoia trip IMO. Ben Laden must be laughing his ass off about the tizzy this country has been in ...

10. Random street searches are already happening in Philadelphia - mostly to black people, of course.
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/front_page/20101105_U_S__lawsuit_targets_Philly_s__quot_stop-and-frisk_quot__policy.html

The lawsuit accuses the department of crossing a line with its aggressive "stop-and-frisk" policy, instituted in 2008 after Mayor Nutter declared a "crime emergency." It asks the court for remedies to prevent race-based pedestrian stops and other constitutional violations.

In 2009, police stopped 253,333 pedestrians, 72 percent of whom were African American, the suit said. Only 8 percent of the stops led to an arrest, often for "criminal conduct that was entirely independent from the supposed reason for the stop," according to the suit.

"Implicitly, the message is, make as many stops as possible, and hopefully you'll find something," said David Rudovsky, one of the lawyers suing the city and the Police Department.

12. Google probably has a prototype for that one already ... I can see this happening
when a city is placed under curfew/lock down. The technology now exits to do all sorts of crap.

9. Well I realize we need security
I also know it's gotten better than it was before 9.11. I know what security should look like and these scanners and gropes are not it.

Yep, they want to find bombs in people... doggies, doggies do the job very well. Alas there is no money there. I also know this started under bush... and they got a certain level of malaise, but they are not thinking about things like this. Nor are they thinking that their actions will kill somebody, sooner rather than later. So can I sue? After all suing the Feds is very hard.

13. I often wonder if it's just "many" or now "most." I never cease to be
amazed at how ignorant and docile people are about events. They are just absolutely clueless and live in their own little world. As long as it does not affect them, they are clueless and lame. Then they wake up and say WTF, how can that be happening.

15. The BushCo Regime created TSA with the image of the Brownshirts in mind.

I don't think there is any way to change their self perception at this point. IMO the
only viable course of action is to scrap the whole program and start all over again.
