Are they put through this? What about former president Family members?

Is the Secretary of State flying Commercial airlines and are subjected to these types of searches? What about Senators and Congressmen(women) How many fly commercial?

Start asking these question and maybe we will get a picture of who is getting special treatment and why this process will continue.

1. Jesse Ventura said he has gone through the extreme pat down because
of a hip replacement. No more, he says. He's a honorably discharged veteran and a former Governor.

2. You make a good point.

But the action was not done by congress. It was part of the TSA from Homeland security. So probably a Lieberman thing if part of any government, but part of more thoughts then that, more about conditioning. And not even sure if they are even doing that, since have not gone to the airport in awhile. Could be Chertoff also, basically it is to get people to accept what they say is safe radiation machines.

On a side note I have seen many advertisements for law suits against medicines they said were safe, so that is pretty ridiculous to assume they are safe. Although it would be ironic if the people that just go along with things, were the ones 'effected' by such machines.

However they took my travel money awhile ago with a smear, so figure they are getting their due, as I will get my due also, much travel and beer money and many experiences.

4. I'm guessing they'll get a pass, especially since they'll have a Secret Service
pal or two along.

Plus, I heard the other day Boehner didn't have to submit to the screening or the groping.

I think ALL Dems should get a pass and all Reps should have a very thorough search.

7. no VIP passengers have to go through this crap
and you don't have to be with the government or formerly with the government to be a VIP... all it takes is money. It's only the "little people" that have to stand in lines and be subjected to this craziness. Regular commercial flights have VIP passengers all the time.

5. I read yesterday that Boehner bypassed security because. . .
it is TSA's policy to not make politicians and other government officials who are escorted by a security detail go through the grope and scope.

In the same article about Boehner, another congresscritter, a low-ranking fellow traveling alone, was waiting in line to be fondled and dongled while Boehner passed by in a poof of orangish man-tan.

9. It Might Be Better If They Did
Obama's comments about the procedure were pretty lackadaisical and showed no understanding of the invasiveness and intrusion of the procedure.

10. Former Presidents are wealthy and don't fuck with such things.
Hell, I don't know but I assume even Jimmy is at least rich and has perks of office along with infinite contacts.

If a former President dealt with such nonsense, I'd be surprised other than as a stunt for friends in the aerospace and airline industries.

To be honest it would be a waste of resources, the odds of a former President suicide bombing a plane are thousands of times or more lower than the odds of it blowing up mid-air on its own. If you're able to be trusted with the nuclear arsenal then they are good to go for a plane ride, no questions asked.

The whole deal is an exercises in population control, the concerns about natural born US citizens is virtually null.

11. Senator Ted Kennedy,
in the months after 9/11/2001, was pulled aside for extra security measures, every single time he flew for a period of some months, because someone else with that nae was on the no-fly list. At National Airport, where every single employee (trust me, I used to work there) would have recognized him. The security people always hid behind the "we're just doing our jobs" crap.
