TSA - Here's the protest I think needs to happen
I really wish that I had plans to fly somewhere soon. (I haven't flown in 5 or 6 years) I talked to my lovely wife about this, and she said that she would do this as well. (As long as I was went first!) I think if enough people were to do this, we could end this intrusive regime of "porno scanners" and groping pat downs. Ready? Here's my idea:

Get naked.

When it's time to get in line for the FIRST set of metal detectors and such, just strip down, in front of everybody, totally naked, bare it all for everyone to see. And do it before anybody pulls you aside for "enhanced interrogation" or anything. You know, when you are taking off your shoes and removing the keys from your pocket. Just get totally naked.

Now, Sweetie and I are relatively attractive people. With our clothes on. We are middle-aged and healthy. However, nobody would ever want to see us naked, certainly not in public. I think if enough people just went ahead and did this, things could change. And again, I regret that I have nowhere to fly to because I would do this without hesitation. Maybe one you lovely whackos who is going somewhere soon could get the... ummm... balls rolling, as it were? Please?

See? That's what nice, reasonably attractive people look like naked. Nobody really wants to see that. Enough people stripping down in the airport without being told to, and we could stop this maddness in a week or two. Come on... do it!

1. You would be immediately tackled, shackled and arrested.
These are jack-booted thug techniques these guys are using, do you really think they'd just chuckle if you exposed yourself?

They'd have you on the ground and behind the scenes before you knew it, and I shudder to think what might become of you after that.

I appreciate that you've got the right idea, but in these circumstances it would accomplish nothing except perhaps harm inflicted upon you for your efforts.

No, this goes way beyond simple protest. This must be stopped at the source, if it's even possible. The Bush TSA must be defunded and gotten rid of.

3. That would be OK with me.
I could live with that. This for the benefit of all those other people in line. They would have a story to tell, there would be cell phone pics on the internet within minutes, and the meme would be much more powerful than the few bruises I would receive.

4. If you're really of a mind to do so (and your wife too), what's stopping you?
You don't need to board a flight, just purchase a refundable ticket and go ahead through security and drop your stuff.

Assuming you aren't detained for many hours (big assumption), you can simply depart and cancel your flight (you can throw the tickets on your credit card if you don't have the cash, and get your money back easily).

So, when can we expect to hear about this protest?

6. Hmmm... Hadn't thought of that!
"you can throw the tickets on your credit card..."
And therein lies the rub. Of course, when there's a will, there's a way. I'm going to consider that one.

7. Why do I need to rethink this?
What's the problem with getting arrested?

Seriously, what's happened to this country? We've become a nation of wimps and pussies. I find it interesting how everyone on this thread has poo-pooed this idea, because someone might get into trouble. I've been in jail before, I've had cops swing their nightsticks at me before, and I see it as a badge of honor, not as something to be avoided because it might cause some discomfort. People seem to LOVE to complain about the creeping fascism we are dealing with, but when it comes time to put your ass on the line, everyone seems to disappear. Unless there's a large group and it includes signs mocking other people. Then it's OK.

Look, there are plenty of reasons why this might be a really bad idea. The possibility of getting arrested is not one of them. Give me something REAL to work with here, oh mighty keyboard warriors!
