Because of a shoe bomber, we are asked to take shoes off at the airport. Because of underwear bomber we are now being patted down included the crotch or x-rayed simply in order to be allowed onto the plane. So if somebody sticks a bomb up their butt I bet we are going to be in for cavity searches.

Generally speaking most of these weirdo methods - using shoes, toner cartridges, whatever, are one-offs that groups will be unlikely to revisit -- how many of us habitually repeat our own failures without learning any lessons? So the last place the next bomb will be found is in precisely the places TSA will now focus on almost exclusively. That agency gives the appearance of being 99 percent reactive in nature, and if so is thus fated to only have success against terrorists who are morons.
