I am sick and tired of the old mantra, "If you haven't done anything wrong, then you have nothing to
worry about".

Bullshit!

If that makes me a libertarian, then so be it. I even thought as Democrats we all could agree on the sanctity of the constitution and the bill of rights. I can understand repubs, as they have been fighting against several of the ammendments over the last few years, trying to erode them. But Democrats?

2. I usually have this argument with my Republican co-workers
but to have it with Democratic supporters is insane. Unless....they really aren't Democratic supporters....just sayin...

didn't know you had to hide.

in a desktop PC. Might be of interest to you, if you have cockroaches.

But despite having nothing to worry about, they still got tried, convicted and imprisoned.

27. Exoneration by DNA evidence is a bit different from blithely allowing...
access to our emails, libraries to release our borrowing histories, search engines from giving access to our internet activity, TSA agents from scanning/patting down our bodies -- all of which are done without probable cause.

I guess I'm not quite sure what your point is.

12. It's not true anyway
People have been let out of jail when they were later found to be not guilty of crimes.

If you are ever accused of a crime you didn't do, you need a lawyer much more than a guilty person does. Often people assume they don't because they aren't guilty. That assumption turns out to be wrong.

However, this is screening, not criminal investigation. No one is trying to make a case against anyone, but trying to head off an attack. If the TSA did not do it, the airlines would have it, and if privatized, it could be just as much if not worse.

15. Try getting off the no-fly list if you have been mistakenly put on it.
We have become a nation of Nervous Nellies afraid of our own shadows instead of a people who were willing to face anything.

We would take our death with grace, right, and not sue the government for not preventing it?

It was just the luck of the draw. The TSA or the US government is not to be blamed, right?

14. There are plenty of people who have been subjected to illegal search and seizure
and have had their rights violated who did nothing wrong.

Everytime a person refuses to stand up for their constitutional rights the rest of ours are eroded away.

Edited on Sun Nov-21-10 04:25 PM by BrklynLiberal
that you think will not get back to your boss.....you are in a totally different situation than being perfectly innocent and getting caught up in some insane set of circumstances that makes you look like a guilty person, or at least treated like a guilty person.

And the horror is that the more you scream about your innocence, the more you are judged as guilty.

Hard to plead innocent when the words are there on your FACEBOOK page.

33. Oh yeah? Did you make a stock trade? Did your retirement plan?
So, your retirement plan moved stuff out of one stock to another.

Someone strangely beat you to the move, and now it is going to be a higher cost. You lose. Your retirement loses.

You have nothing to hide? Nothing? ... only if you are a fool.
