Here's what will happen if you decide to strip down for the TSA agents
You will be charged by the police for:

The incident was confirmed by Harbor Police Sergeant Rakos who said Wolanyk was arrested on two misdemeanors,

“failing to complete the security process; violation code 7.01

and illegally recording the San Diego Airport Authority (they confiscated his iPhone); violation number 7.14 (a).”

In what can only be described as TSA handlers gone wild, the San Diego Harbor Police arrested an area resident for refusal to complete the screening/security process yesterday. This is the same airport that created the TSA security catch phrase “don’t touch my junk.” John Tyner of San Diego started the airport screening firestorm last week as Americans head into the busiest travel week of the year in the United States.

This time the defendant, Sam Wolanyk says he was asked to pass through the 3-D x-ray machine. When Wolanyk refused, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel told him he would have to be patted down before he could pass through and board his airplane.

DUers.
If you strip you clothes off TSA agents will want you to put them back on so they can properly pat you down!
And if you refuse you will get arrested!

7. What sense does it make to ask a guy who stripped down
to his underpants that leave nothing to the imagination to put his clothes back on so he can be properly patted down?

11. It doesn't. They are just chasing the last known attempt
Ever notice that these idjets try something only ONCE yet our crackerjack TSA modifies ALL procedures to thwart it? Shoe bomber, shoes off. Liquid explosives, no shampoo in carryons. Underwear 'bomber', groping children and old ladies.

Where is the attention on the REAL threat (if there even is one) - cargo? Less than 10% of cargo is checked.

*sigh*

21. Yep

Must have all sheep quietly go along with these enhanced screening procedures, without a search warrant.

What's next? The police searching my house? without a warrant.

5. WTF? Glad he called a lawyer.
From the link:

This time the defendant, Sam Wolanyk says he was asked to pass through the 3-D x-ray machine. When Wolanyk refused, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel told him he would have to be patted down before he could pass through and board his airplane.

Wolanyk said he knew what was coming and took off his pants and shirt, leaving him in Calvin Klein bike undergarments.

“It was obvious that my underwear left nothing to the imagination,” he explained. “But that wasn’t enough for the TSA supervisor who was called to the scene and asked me to put my clothes on so I could be properly patted down.

{Snip}

TSA headquarters has told would-be airline travelers who enter an airport checkpoint process and refuse to undergo the method of inspection designated by TSA they will not be allowed to fly and can face possible charges for disrupting the airport security process.

I posted on this earlier: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x9604589

They want to SEE it or TOUCH it. Heaven forbid you stand their in your underwear and deny them both. They have NO EXCUSE for this.

:grr:

to put his clothes back on so he can be properly patted down.
If the guy is standing there in his underpants that leave nothing to the imagination clearly he is not hiding anything under his clothes.
WTF does he need to put his clothes back on so he can be patted down?
Seriously, if I don't want to get into the naked scanner because I am concerned about possible effects of radiation, and I don't want TSA agents touching me, WTF shouldn't I be allowed to take my clothes off so they can see I am not hiding anything under the clothes?

12. Sister, I am right with you. This is insane.
Hand them your clothes and let them grope fabric until their little hearts are content.

I am happy to stand there in my underwear and wait.

16. Yes, I did! JFK airport, not long after 9/11. I flew weekly and ALWAYS got searched.... soooo
After that I put ALL my dirty underwear at the top of my carry-on luggage. The "inspector" that got my search, was a young black guy ... I felt sorry for him, but , "You got it...old white man dirty underwear! Dig in!"

I still laugh about it today. That was a great prank.

17. I tip my hat to you!
I don't travel that often, but I am going to be traveling more the next coming year, so I'm not looking forward to the extra radiation or some stranger feeling and patting down my private parts.

I wish I didn't have to take a plane. I don't like to fly anyhow. But for my job and my family I'm going to have to do it.

24. Love to see bunches of people go to the airport in their underwear
I don't think there's anything that requires a person to be in anything more than a bikini or spandex shorts.
