When that lovely bill was passed I lived in Hawaii, as my hubby was active duty in the Navy. And as some of you may know I am a gamer.
So I downloaded the USPA and read it, over coffee and became increasingly alarmed but I had a game to play. So I went to the store and the convesaton moved on to the USPA and I razed more than a few onjections... One of the people started asking some really detailed questions. He was a state congressman, and he was denying it could be that bad. So I offered to get him some coffee at Starbucks, and to bring him a copy.
We met at saith Starbucks and I did buy his coffee and pastries...and he read this thing...and re-read it and re-read it. He kept a copy and thanked me. Within a week the state started the process to stay out of the USPA, and I know I had a role. So when people say it is meaningless, no it is not. For me it was the cost coffee and pastries (and an IRS work up) but it is not meaningless. Each time you loudly resist they know you are not willing to just give up.
There are folks who disagree, but I wonder if there is anything worth fighting for?
