Asmall peeve I have with all the Santa Clause shows I have seen lately.
Throughout the shows there is always some conflict Santa has to overcome and somehow he always does but at the end of the shows it never fails they show it starting to snow and that is supposed to make everyone happy..Snow does not make me happy.. It means to me, unsafe driving conditions and having to shovel my roof and the walkway and in general makes for a lot of work for me..Why is this supposed to be a happy thing? I guess you can tell I am no longer a skier or snow boarder...

5. Did you see Nanny McPhee?
In that movie, not only did it snow in the middle of summer, but everyone's clothing mysteriously turned white. This supposedly represented happy ending.

10. For Many Of Us It Means...
Trying to pay higher heat bills, worrying about how we are going to clear off the driveway when we no longer are able to do it ourselves, the depression of being alone or unable to go anywhere because you don't want to run the risk of breaking a hip or getting the transport/wheel chair/walker stuck in the ice and snow. I dread it more every year.

11. Well the Santa "clause" does stipulate that people watching said show
mustn't be of the age and dispostion to tell kids to "get off my lawn!!!".

As you were.

13. Maybe you should consider
moving to someplace where it never, or at least rarely, snows.

The real answer to your question is that the people who make those shows live in southern California, where it rarely snows. They have a romantic movie idea of snow being picturesque and wonderful. Even if it ever does snow there, it's not going to be enough to require shoveling or really impact driving, the way snow in a more northern part of the world does.

The problem with a LOT of movies is the people who make them haven't a clue about all sorts of things. They'll get essential facts wrong, and figure that no one will notice.
