As anyone can see from his many recent teevee appearances, this guy comes off as a certitudinous ass. He has all the airs of a deeply conservative tight ass and even has that sort of religious fervor about things that all true believers seem to exhibit.

He seems like a holdover from the bush era.

Pistole, the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has been nominated to fill the top job at the Transportation Security Administration, the agency that oversees airport passenger screening. The nomination is President Obama's third try after his previous choices to fill the vacancy withdrew following revelations of past conduct.

The No. 2 official at the F.B.I. since 2004, Mr. Pistole may have an easier time passing his agency's background check.
