The French would stage a huge demonstration and shut down the airlines on T'giving
Edited on Mon Nov-22-10 01:14 PM by librechik
Refusing the scan and demanding the pat down then passive resistance on the pat downs.

Will we? When I read the poll that revealed 4 out of 5 Americans have no problem with the pat downs, I sort of lost hope that would happen. We seem anesthetized and unable to resist.

I would wear a T shirt saying FIRE PISTOLE.

1. The French are not afraid of their corporate CEOs
or their government. There is a long history.

That's what Germany did as well.

5. The TSA is quite capable of shutting down air travel all by themselves.

6. A majority of air travel is comprised of business travelers
It is difficult for the business traveler to commit to any protest as it would endanger their career.

If I did not have to travel for business, I probably wouldn't fly much. I fly very infrequently for pleasure. If I were however, I would love to be able to take part in a revolt.

8. Maybe. But I bet a French business traveler would be more courageous.
In fact I'm certain of it. I can't figure out WHY Europeans are so much more organized and fearless about strikes, protests and shut downs than we are here.

11. Don't think so. They value their holidays too much.
I've been there numerous times during "la greve" and they always break off their strikes in time to get going on their holidays.
