Comparing what doctors do to what the TSA does is fucking idiotic.

First off, when a doctor does it, you are fully aware of it. In addition you have a choice of doctors that YOU are comfortable doing such examinations, if you aren't comfortable, you can refuse. Can you do the same with the TSA? In addition, you also are given privacy, you don't get examined in the waiting room, where strangers can gawk at you. In addition, this comparison is even more atrocious in that it could easily be used to justify cavity searches as well, they are just like visiting the OB-GYN or getting a Prostate exam, right? :eyes:

...which makes such a defense unbelievable.

I flew many times during the Bush years and only had to go through a metal detector. Nothing as intrusive as the new practices!

The Bush years were the "steal absolutely everything" years for the TSA

I remember one of the funniest times was a friend had put a few bottles of wine in her checked luggage.

When she got home there was a note in the suitcase stating that the bottles had ruptured and the TSA was forced to remove them.

When she called and reported the incident and inquired as to how none of the spilled wine managed to get on her clothes she was told

"our agents are very thorough".

not so much. Also, your medical providers have a legitimate diagnostic need to examine you, and the legitimacy/necessity of the TSA scan-and-grope is debatable.
