Do you remember Chandra Levy? The intern who disappeared?

If you do, you will also remember Congressman Gary Condit. The congressman had been having an affair with Levy. When she went missing , so did his political career. He became a suspect and media story after media story put him in the frame.

Condit ended up serving ice cream in Baskin-Robbins.

But now - after a lengthy investigation by the Washington Post - it is pretty clear that he had nothing to do with Levy's murder. Ingmar Guandique, a jailed serial assailant of women, is now the key suspect.

Is Condit owed an apology?

1. If I recall correctly, Condit was a DINO, who had the nerve to critisize Bill Clinton

about affairs, then had one himself.

That being said, what the police and media did to the man was reprehensible.

2. Amazing verdict with zero evidence, and not even a certain cause of death.

3. Maybe he should have been more forthcoming about his involvement with her.

That might have helped his case.

5. He obfuscated but that was no excuse for what the media did to him.

On the other hand, he was no saint. As far as Levy was concerned, he was a Class A Sh*t.

We should NOT confer sainthood on this guy...he didn't give a crap about Chandra or any of the other women he had affairs with. I wonder why his wife stays with him...

4. Cable News was all over this 24-7 for about two weeks. Until......

8am September 11th. Then the story died.

8. There are two separate stories here

One is the murder of Chandra Levy. The other is the media and police harassment of Gary Condit.

There hasn't been a SHRED of evidence that the two are connected.
