to refer to the President of the United States as "Mr." I have noticed since President Obama took office that many in the media (radio, TV, blogs, etc.) refer to him as Mr. Obama. Did they do that with the others? Mr. Bush or President Bush? Mr. Clinton or President Clinton? And so on. The level of respect for this president is embarrassing to our country, IMHO. He is the president, whether you agree or disagree with is policies or they way he governs. He deserves the respect that goes with that office.

Full disclosure: I was NOT a supporter of President Bush, but I accepted the fact that he was president...our president...and hoped that he would succeed for our country's sake. I WANTED to be proven wrong about him.

I voted for Gore, then Kerry. But as much as it pains us to say it, he was president. His judgement (or lack of), affected us all. That's why I hoped he'd succeed. Too bad for us, he didn't.

2. You can solve this riddle with google.

You'll find that the press often refers to the president as "Mr. __".

You'll find references to Mr. Bush, Mr. Clinton, and Mr. Obama.

There is no slight or insult in referring to the president in this manner, though it may not be strictly proper protocol under all circumstances.

George W. Bush was handed the Presidency by the USSC on 12/13/2000. I do not use the title of President when referring to George W. Bush as he did not win the election in 2000, therefore he has no legitimacy, including his second term, which he would never have had if the first was not handed to him.

The "style books" call for the President to be addressed as President in the 1st reference and "Mr./Mrs./Ms./Miss in subsequent references.

Has been for ages and you may be a little too sensitive. It really is a nothing concern.
