What the TSA Patdown Searches Are Really About
What the TSA Patdown Searches Are Really About

by Robert Freeman

....................

The absurdity has become palpable. The government doesn’t even try to hide that it reads our email and listens to our phone calls, that it has suspended habeas corpus, the longest standing protection of a people against the abuses of a rogue government. It no longer denies that the president claims the right to murder Americans for any pretext, without due process of law, so long as he deems that person a threat to national security.

The truth is that the government is not fighting wars against terrorists any more. It is creating, provoking, escalating wars and then using the resistance as the pretext to create a police state capable of conducting a war against its own people.

Of course, it will be so much easier if it can convince the people to surrender their rights willingly, voluntarily, to submit as the cattle that must be their ultimate, inescapable fate. Public, inescapable, physical humiliation is just one of the ways to condition people to that subservience.

It’s working.

1. How do we keep the jack-booted thugs of the TSA in line?
Unfortunately, too many Democrats are signifying their willingness to go along in order to get along. This is a weakness that the Republicans can exploit.

6. How?
We haven't been very good at that, from what I see. Do we start carrying guns to airports or something?

I'm getting a bit frustrated at all this, you can probably tell.

7. Read this
http://noblasters.com/post/1650102322/my-tsa-encounter

Educate your family, friends and neighbors and co-workers.

Write Congress, TV radio and papers.

When the shooting starts, then you can consider arming yourself. Not before.

8. That won't do a bit of good
I applaud Matt's efforts, but writing Congress and the GOP-controlled media is useless.

14. It took 2.5 hours

"In order to enter the USA, I was never touched, I was never “Backscatted,” and I was never metal detected. In the end, it took 2.5 hours, but I proved that it is possible."

Very interesting article. Thanks for the link. And I'd do the same thing. What is only 2.5 hours to prove you don't have to be scanned, searched and groped. But most people won't spend the time, because they have other priorities. They would rather give up their civil liberties and be assaulted by the TSA.

BTW, we are still fighting for our civil rights in our village, and it's been over 1.5 years. Our most basic rights and freedoms are worth fighting for.

15. The TSA is non-union. That was required by the republicans
as a condition for the creation of the TSA.

Lots of civil servants moved into the TSA from other agencies lost their union benefits and protections.

2. I believe it.
Who feels that we Americans live in the 'freest' country on earth?

And why so much control measures? Do they fear an uprising when we finally get pushed too far?

16. Propaganda to the home front must create an optimum anxiety level.

a. Propaganda must reinforce anxiety concerning the consequences of defeat

b. Propaganda must diminish anxiety (other than concerning the consequences of defeat) which is too high and which cannot be reduced by people themselves

17. and a little Goering
"But, after all, it is the leaders of the
country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to
drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist
dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no
voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked,
and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the
country to danger. It works the same in any country."

10. Yep. The TSA is all about indoctrinating US citizens into a police state mentality
Edited on Tue Nov-23-10 11:03 AM by ixion
and if it's not reigned in, you'll be stopping at TSA checkpoints on your way to the grocery store some day, guaranteed.

But it's not going to be easy. They've obviously got some serious backing, otherwise, they'd be back-peddling like crazy right now.

13. The backpeddling has begun
The question is how far will it go? I am waiting for Obama to reverse himself. Then we will know that the tide is changing. The question is, will it be before he leaves office?
