1. Read them again. Then, take them to your local library, and the library will sell them to raise

funds to buy new ones and pay librarians.

3. If they're fairly new, try a used book store. They will give you credit

6. The library usually takes used books.

They'll either add them to their collection or sell them at an annual fundraiser. Also, hospitals, Goodwill, etc.

They're afraid the inmates will make weapons out of the covers. They also will will not allow many subjects, like crime related books.

This a good idea. (the Bookcrossing link) I am a saver. Of everything. Especially books. I love to read, and loan or give some away to friends and family. I have culled my shelves and even registered to try to sell them through Alibris. A year ago. However, I can't seem to actually list them, so there they sit, in piles. Help! I know I can give them away to the library, I don't know if, or how much, one can get from selling; So this is another interesting idea that appeals to my sense of the value of actual printed books, made of paper. (I haven't gone into the Kindle yet, maybe never will.) Thanks.

Call and find out. Ours recycles used books (resells) and finds homes for all
books (donates to homeless shelters, Senior housing, hospitals, etc.)

23. A friend had a used book store...

he made a couch out of them.... a work of art.

He also burned them. In his woodstove. A 3yr old romance novel that's beat up has no place to go, so he heated his store and house with them.
