Frankly, as horrible as it sounds, having yet another 911 type of thing would be greeted with huzzahs in the government, especially the military and the military manufacturers and contractors.

The full clamp down would go into effect.

Shortly there after the revolution would begin and be put down in less than 48 hours.

Then the occupation of our nation by our own government begins.

Sigh, I have to stop reading those doomsday sci-fi books.

14. Awhile back I was up late packing and forgot to clean out my messenger bag

before leaving the house. A few days prior to my trip I had freelanced at an office that never had decent supplies. So when I got to LA I realized I had several Xacto knives, a box of blades, a large pair of scissors and a steak knife (to cut up the apple I'd brought for lunch to the office) in my bag. Not a second glance from security. But I do remember the woman behind me got stopped for having an open package of lunchmeat in her bag. Why she had lunchmeat in her bag is one question, but the larger question is why lunchmeat would pose some kind of threat but my knives and blades didn't?

Security theater at best. The only purpose of the TSA is to give the 'safety simpletons' at large peace of mind.

According to TSA's own data only 3% of people get the enhanced pat down. So send 20 terrorists through and chances are that 19-20 of the terrorists will still not be caught by this. But 100% of the innocent passengers will be offended, demeaned, and have their rights violated.

Compound this with that most cargo (you know the big boxes stored just a few feet below your feet on a plane) are NOT checked at all.

While the TSA kabuki theater is checking for herpes sores (without changing gloves between people) they are letting 500 lbs of plastic explosives onto the plane's cargo area.

Even better, just wait until some terrorist figures out they can kill more people, shut down an airport, and disrupt the entire airline industry for a week by blowing themselves up in the security line. Pack a backpack or a carry-on suitcase with all the explosives they want and then explode it BEFORE they get to the check point. They could take out several hundred people just from that in those tightly packed security rope lines.

TSA is IDIOCY. A gargantuan waste of money, resources, time, and productivity with no perceptible benefit.
