Rush Limbaugh once more potificates on something he has no idea what he's blathering about, and Motor Trend runs over him. :D

So, Mr. Limbaugh; you didn’t enjoy your drive of our 2011 Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Volt? Assuming you’ve been anywhere near the biggest automotive technological breakthrough since … I don’t know, maybe the self-starter, could you even find your way to the front seat? Or are you happy attacking a car that you’ve never even seen in person?

1. I'd like to know, objectively, which cars Rush has given a test drive to this year.

I don't really care about his opinion as much as I care about what qualifies him to make/project such an opinion. THAT is what makes him a shitwit blowhard. What would be his choice? That's what I'd like to see. No, really, I would. As an epic petrolhead, I bet I could tear apart his choice in less than 10 seconds.

But...I'll bet he doesn't have one. He's just one big pile of negativity and contradiction to anything beneficial to this country. Nothing to add, nothing that benefits. Waste of fucking space.

2. The Volt is a mass-produced technological innovation that works pretty well

It's not some kind of futuristic testbed with lots of gee-whiz gadgets that would never make it to a production line, and it's not some rushed-to-market propoganda machine of an immature technology.

Build quality, ergonomics, and capacities are well within acceptable limits of midpriced midsized sedans, and it does a heck of a lot more than a Prius in terms of reducing oil consumptions.


There are other issues, of course, such as burning coal to make electricity to charge the battery, but that's not the car's fault.

I'm curious as to why Windbag panned it, because I'd just love to prove him not only wrong...but stupid.

As to why it's being panned... well, it's environmentally friendlier and made by Government Motors. So, there ya go. If it had a curb weight of 8,000 pounds, sat 12, got 5 miles per gallon, looked like a mean motherfucker, and was loaded to the gills with leather, bling, cameras, sensors, flatscreen Blu-Ray players, etc., it Rush would have one for every day of the week.


Bonus points if it had military origins, of course.
