10 Epic Failures of the Bush Tax Cuts

In a rare moment of candor last week, the third-ranking Republican in the House admitted the failure of the Bush tax cuts. "You know, I think it's fair to say, if the current tax rates were enough to create jobs and generate economic growth we'd have a growing economy," Mike Pence acknowledged, adding, "It's not working now." Given that the Bush years produced the worst economic growth in the past 50 years, Pence is sadly correct. But sadder still is the dismal performance of the Bush economy across almost every indicator that counts. From moribund job creation and sinking household incomes to skyrocketing deficits and record income inequality, Republican economic stewardship over the past decade has been a disaster.

Here, then, are the 10 Epic Failures of the Bush Tax Cuts:

- Dismal Economic Growth

- A Decade of Budget Deficits

- Red Ink as Far as the Eye Can See

- Disastrous Job Creation

-Declining Incomes

-Increasing Poverty

-A Massive Windfall for the Wealthy

-Record Income Inequality

-A Sagging Stock Market

-Jeopardizing Future Economic Growth

Said kpete here at DU. IIRC.

The 86 I added from his and WSJ raw data.

Compare payroLl growth '48 - '68
... Up 14%.... During 91% top tax rate years....

TO

Bush years--- 2% job growth

"Tax cuts KILL jobs"

That is, cuts for the top. Tax cuts for the middle class are fine
Use this quote to answer the RW lies.

2. The Corporate Media Doesn't Hear You...
According to them everything that goes bad is President Obama's fault. The economic collapse...his fault, of course. He made it happen off of a sudden ya know :sarcasm: If he hadn't appeared on the scene our economy would be "humming" right along. :sarcasm:

No one with a compassionate and logical braincell can dispute with what you've posted...the boooosh tax cuts for the rich were a disaster on all fronts. It didn't create jobs...just more money to those who already have it that was socked away in ponzi investment schemes (that Obama would end up having to cover for), it didn't "trickle down" as the average income has declined throughout the past 10 years at a rapid rate and it also bankrupted local and state governments who had to collect less and cover for more and more programs the federal government either mandated without funding or just stopped funding altogether.

But the talking heads in the teevee studios with their nice six figure incomes (guaranteed by their wealthy corporate benefactors) think all was so wonderful and rosey under booooosh. They've been conditioned into the belief that rushpublicans are "fiscal conservatives" despite the record defecits they create every time they get control of the treasury. Now they're abetting in rewriting history to suit their bosses...the truth is just too complicated for the sheeple to handle. :sarcasm:

Cheers...

3. trickledown, Supply Side, Reaganomics, Laffer Curve, Milton Friedman, Chicago School
All are the same.. Just different labels for one RW economy falsehood.

The bush years soundly prove it wrong.

The Great Depression did the same proof.

The GOP can't run an economy.
