Or pre-war. Joseph Stiglitz already touched on the sky rocketing cost of the wars in the Middle East. Now tensions are increasing on the Korean Pennisula. Well yes there's the need to respnd but ultimately will this not hit defence/se spending agian and poke more holes in the already high deficit?

1. Wars don't cost anything

You fund them through off-budget supplementals, and when the bill at last comes due, you dump it in the next guy's lap, and complain about how he's taxing and spending and all out of control and stuff. At least, that's the Generally Accepted Republican Principle of accounting for war costs.
