Coleman to Miller: Give Up on Recount
http://www.rollcall.com/news/-200892-1.html

A veteran of his own extended vote-counting process, former Sen. Norm Coleman believes the Alaska Senate race is over and GOP nominee Joe Miller should end his lawsuit challenging the results.

“I understand Joe’s frustration. … I had some of those concerns in Minnesota on a much, much, much closer race,” the Minnesota Republican said on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” program, set to air Sunday. “I think that race is over. I think the counting’s been done. I’m not sure there’s anything that would change that.”

At the end of vote counting last week, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) finished with a lead of more than 10,000 votes. Miller has filed suit in state court requesting that the state be prohibited from certifying the election results. Miller claims the state did not follow its own laws when using the standard of voter intent in its count of write-in ballots.

“Without criticizing Joe Miller, I would offer him advice,” Coleman said. “I think it should be time to move on. There’s not much that you can gain by extending the process.”

1. Dear Norm
Shut. The. Fuck. Up. And go the hell away. Why in the name of all that's unholy would someone ask Norm Coleman for advice on anything? But there he is on the most trusted name in cable news, bloviating away and not being consumed by a pillar of fire, presenting a persuasive argument against the existence of a just and loving God.

3. Rather than sticking his nose in Alaska's business
Normie should be working on Tom Emmer to stop trying to obstruct the recount in the Minnesota governor's race and, if Dayton wins it, drop it.

4. Even Alaska GOP asked Miller to end campaign
ALASKA REPUBLICANS RESPOND TO SENATE RACE RESULTS

November 17, 2010

Anchorage, Alaska—The Alaska Republican Party today congratulates Senator Lisa Murkowski on her victory in Alaska’s U.S. Senate race.

Murkowski has pulled significantly ahead of Joe Miller in unchallenged write-in ballots and has a sizable lead in total counted ballots. “At this point we are comfortable calling this race,” said Alaska Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich. “Lisa has won. We congratulate Lisa on her victory.”

The Alaska Republican Party stands ready to embrace Lisa Murkowski as Alaska’s only Republican U.S. Senator.

Joe Miller earned the Republican Party nomination for US Senate in August. “We commend Joe for running an energetic campaign,” said Ruedrich.

This campaign season has been trying on Alaska’s citizens. In addition to the normal drama that elections bring, Alaskan’s have lost their two greatest senior statesmen in Wally Hickel and Ted Stevens. “Alaskans need to begin coming to terms with all that has happened,” said Ruedrich. “This was a free and fair election. It is now time to look forward. We call on Joe Miller to respect the will of the voters and end his campaign in a dignified manner. We have every expectation that Joe will do the right thing.”

5. Under the bus time
It's that time again, time to throw Miller under the bus, and pull Murkowski out from under the bus where they threw her in favor of Miller! I think republicans don't want to tick of Murkowski anymore than they already have for fear she just might vote more with the democrats in order to get some "payback" for all the things they said about her when they thought Miller could win that race! I know she is not very happy with some like Demint who made a lot of negative comments about her. I think it will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of years with tea party groups already making threats to other moderate republicans about catering to them or facing a teabagger come their text election primary!
