Palin Slams Michelle Obama Over Anti-Obesity Campaign
Sam Stein, November 24, 2010 | 3:31:12 PM (EST)

"Take her anti-obesity thing that she is on. She is on this kick, right. What she is telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat. And I know I'm going to be again criticized for bringing this up, but instead of a government thinking that they need to take over and make decisions for us according to some politician or politician's wife priorities, just leave us alone, get off our back, and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions and then our country gets back on the right track."

Apparently she hasn't heard that alot of parents need help in learning how to prevent pediatric obesity. As a nurse, I applaud the First Lady for her efforts. It really is shocking how little mist people know about nutrition.

2. more anti-intellectualism from the queen of american ignorance
take a look around you at the epidemic of obesity in this country. many parents, in fact, CAN NOT be trusted to make decisions for their childrens's nutrition, because they themselves make horrendous choices due to ignorance or poverty.

the FLOTUS is making SUGGESTIONS TO FIGHT OBESITY, you flibberdigibbet.

5.  She is trying so hard to call Michelle Obama out and our gracious 1st Lady will never take the bait
She would love Mrs. Obama to respond so she and her bigot followers can perpetuate the angry Black woman stereotype.

Didn't think it was possible for her to be more despicable, but she is.

She hates everybody and everything. She encourages bigotry and division.

She takes, takes, takes, and doesn't give a damn thing.

10. The First Lady is doing something nobel and important
considering we have some of the highest obesity rates in children it is clear that parents need help.

Palin continues to cross the line...making a mountain out of an ant hill..

Of course Palin can't understand the high obesity rates are directly related to high healthcare costs.....she is an idiot!

12. And note the recasting
As the First Lady's program offers help to folks who obviously need it, Mrs. Palin recasts it as government interference, and distrust of parents, and nanny statism. There's no magical transformation that happens when someone or some couple becomes a parent. We've atomized our society to the point where parents don't share insights and information, and even the kindest, gentlest suggestion is to be treated with suspicion if not outright hostility. "Don't tell me how to raise my kids!" you can almost hear Mrs. Palin thunder. Almost as if she's done a perfect job of rearing her family, an evaluation that I don't think is supported by reality.

President and first lady on how they are raising their girls. She wants to attack the girls....it's just a matter of time.

11. Since when is the "First Lady" the government?
First Ladies have, at least since Eleanor, promoted various causes. Mostly to save themselves from intolerable boredom in some cases. It's a prominent position to have a voice. But it's NOT the government.

14. And this in a country with 40M uninsured!
I guess she wants a country full of 300+ lb. people. Does she have a stake in the diabetes testing kit industry or something?

Just like Limpballs' rant against the Chevy Volt, it's painfully obvious that anytime somebody even tries to do something that might help this country out in the future, they have to mock them for the sin of actually having a good idea.

I would love to learn ONE fucking thing the Rethugs have done in say, the last 100 years, that have actually benefited the average working person.

Would that apply to a woman's right to abortion?

Republicans, especially of her ilk, depend on a voting public that is unhealthy, poorly educated and constantly scared. An electorate like that is easily controlled.

Right now the president's numbers are down. A current poll out has him losing to every single potential GOP challenger except for one. Guess who.

22. Right because we got to be...
the fattest nation on earth BECAUSE of the government. She just cant acknowledge reality, childhood obesity is a huge problem and it got that way because most parents fucking suck at deciding whats best for their kids. Then Michelle decides to make it easier for kids to get healthier food and somehow that is limiting personal freedom. Its absurd.
