1. From the NY Times story:
Edited on Wed Nov-24-10 07:53 PM by Mist
“This is an abuse of power,” he said. “It’s a miscarriage of justice. I still maintain my innocence. The criminalization of politics undermines our very system.”

This gets a bit strange---Delay thinks getting charged with crimes while in office is "criminalizing" politics? Seems to me committing crimes while in office would be "criminalizing politics." How Orwellian.

11. victim, always the victim ...
when they get caught ...

it is perverse and it has spread like a virus into our society ...

modern "conservatism" has so tragically damaged our soul as a country in so many ways, not the least has been the absolute rejection of personal responsibility ...

honor, gotta be kidding ...

18. But the damage he did to our political culture and our society
is probably irreversible, especially since the Repub majoritey and the stolen 2000 & 2004 elections led to a SC that gave corporations the financial keys to our elections.

20. That is certainly a very plausible scenario.
Edited on Thu Nov-25-10 06:00 PM by Vinnie From Indy
BushCo operates no different than the mob. One thing both have in common is that there is ALWAYS a large group of people that are allowed to play & profit at the margins until they become a threat or are more valuable as a trade or dead. They are assets. They are the "expendables" and the vast majority of this group has no understanding of their true position in the structure until it is far too late.

I favor the notion that the "Bugman" was useful until he wasn't and that he was left to twist in the wind. Also, he was a very sloppy criminal.
