Airport Bans PETA Ad Featuring “TSA Agent” Pamela Anderson
Boston’s Logan Airport has decided that a web commercial produced by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and featuring Pamela Anderson as a TSA agent is too “adult” for the facility’s WiFi network even in the midst of invasive pat-downs.
The Boston Herald summarizes the ad as follows:
Anderson, who has appeared in tons of PETA propaganda, plays a scantily clad TSA agent who strips passengers of leather, fur and other animal skins as they pass through her security checkpoint. Now considering the groping that goes on at Logan’s checkpoints on a day-to-day basis, this seems rather topical!
The commercial, which “co-stars” Steve-O, is called “Cruelty Doesn’t Fly,” and PETA may try to get it shown at other airports during the holiday travel season.
PETA has a history of edgy advertising. And in July, another PETA ad featuring Anderson was banned in Canada.
