Dennis Kucinich | Fake Taliban Leader, Fake Elections, Fake Deadline, Real Trouble
http://www.truth-out.org/dennis-kucinich-fake-taliban-leader-fake-elections-fake-deadline-real-trouble65417

Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich, a leading proponent of peace, today renewed his call to end the Afghan war after it was revealed that a self-proclaimed senior Taliban negotiator working with President Hamid Karzai and NATO officials was in an imposter.

“The war in Afghanistan is taking place in a netherworld where facts and common sense have no place. Elections are fake. Our deadline to withdraw is a fake. Now, we learn that a fake Taliban leader has been leading us to believe that NATO was facilitating high-level talks between Taliban leadership and the corrupt Afghan central government we’re propping up. It was truly amazing that our government said we were negotiating with high-level Taliban leadership while at the same time we were stepping up air strikes to wipe them out.

“Evidence abounds that the Karzai regime in Kabul is among the most corrupt in the world. President Karzai rules through crony capitalism. He works to protect his cronies rather than the Afghan people. Our tax dollars are going to the Karzai family and its supporters to buy villas in Dubai. We know that our tax dollars fund both sides of the conflict. We know that our ‘allies’ pay the enemy not to attack our troops and that they also may be bribing insurgents to attack our troops. We also know that U.S. tax dollars fund Afghan warlords. NATO officials have become so skilled in self-deception that a senior NATO official recently claimed that Kabul is safer for children than most western cities.

Meanwhile those who continue to advocate for the war apply the dark arts of public relations to manufacture support for a war which is neither winnable, nor moral nor sane. It is time for Congress to start asking General Petraeus some direct questions.

6. I think it was around that time
2002 or 2003 that I first learned of him too and I will choose him over anyone, anytime given the opportunity to do so. And then as luck would have it I was extremely lucky to have spent some real quality time with both Dennis and Elizabeth in 2008, on multiple occasions. To say the least, that was very cool.

7. Wow! Very cool, indeed!
He first came on my radar in 2003, when he came out against the Iraq war and was labeled "unpatriotic" for his efforts. *sigh* That's when I first knew that I liked him. And then my friend sent me one of those "Which Candidate Is for You?" tests, and I've matched up with DK 100% every time I've taken it, over the years. For whatever reason, he's not always taken seriously, but I've always believed that he's the smartest guy around, and the most courageous... :patriot: :hi:

They aren't used to that in the MSM. And you're right, he is a true Democrat, walks the walk. There are too few of those in Congress today. :(

the "Vietnam syndrome" -- i.e., Americans understanding what "perpetual" wars

were all about -- enriching profiteers, enslaving populations!

19. That is what I'm saying. Iraq is also of course fake and is never going away under either management
we are a stupid and willfully ignorant people as indicated by a guy like Kooch here being thought of as some deep left figure.

Center left is it, in a rational world. Instead we have Democrats calling him moonbeam while telling us cock and bull about sharing our goals.

If you count Dennis among the fringe then I'm comfortable believing we have very different goals and even far off hopes. Broadway of your ideological universe is conservative and the trip to the regressive side of the track is with in eyeshot. Your Main Street is perhaps willing to tinker with the status quo or to shoot a strongly written letter or two to the dictators of the establishment.

I would say the goals are a closer fit to the Republicans with some differences of opinion rather than compellingly divergent viewpoints on structure and systems.

Always on point Dennis. Thank you for telling us the truth. Of course it is already way too late.

- But still, it's refreshing to hear it......

Flatworm Economics

"If there can be a solution at this late stage, and most thinking people seriously doubt there can be a “solution” in the way we have always thought of solutions, it begins with powering down everything we consider to be the economy and our survival. That and population reduction, which nobody wants to discuss in actionable terms. Worse yet, there is no state sanctioned, organized entry level for people who want to power down from the horrific machinery of money. There are too many financial, military and corporate and governmental forces that don’t want to see us power down (because it would spell their death), but rather power up even more. That’s called “a recovery.”

When viewed from outside the virtual money economy, and from the standpoint of the planet’s caloric economy, probably half of American and European jobs are not only unnecessary, but also terribly destructive, either directly or indirectly. Yet what nation or economic state acknowledges the need for a transition away from jobs that aren't necessary. None, because such an economy could not support the war machines or the transactional financial industries that dominate our needs hierarchy for the benefit of the few. Loaning us money we have already earned, stuffing us with corn syrup. And I won’t even go into the strong possibility that everybody does not need to be employed at all times for the world to keep on turning."

street damn it!

People are loising their homes, they have lost their jobs, fascism has taken over this country and I have a post deleted because I had the nerve to post basically that I don't give a shit that Obama sent out some fucking Thanksgiving Emails??????????

I have a brother in law and sister in law losing their home , after they filled out all the paper work last May for thefederal help in the mortgage so called bail out Obama and this coungress did ..not only did they never get a fucking reply on filling out all that paper work..BOA is harrassing everyone in the family by phone!

I live on the east coast , they live on the west coast and for 4 months now I have gotten harrassing calls from BofA about their mortgage! Telling me their business on the phone. Their mother in law 4 states away has also gotten harrassing phone calls about their mortgage.

Now my brother and cousins all live in a NE state and and are long time members of the Operating Engineers Union..they have all been out of work..and they all tell me today..all the huge road work going on... is not employing the Unions..the money has gone to private contractors that use non union workers!

So tell me how I am supposed to be thrilled over Obama's Thanksgiving fucking emails?????????

Our constitutional rights are being destroyed by Obama's TSA..and I am supposed to be thanking Obama???????????

No thanks..

The only Thanks I have left is for Dennis ..he is the only one left telling any damn truth!

which which of these are our leaders; who are escalating these wars of insanity; whose effects are the opposite of what is claimed and propagandized; causing infinitely more damage than any conceivable good.
