Sarah Palin Gaffe: 'North Korea Is US Ally'

Gaffe-prone Sarah Palin, who is considering running for the 2012 US Presidency, has risked more political ridicule after suggesting North Korea is an ally of America.

The darling of the Tea Party and conservative Republicans made the error when she was asked about the conflict between the North and Southern enemies, which escalated this week.

Speaking during a radio interview, the self-styled hockey mum said: "Obviously we've got to stand with our North Korean allies."

The interviewer Glenn Beck then pointed out that it was in fact South Korea, not Kim Jong-Il's North, which was a friend of the US.
It is not the first time her foreign policy credentials have been called into question...

Obviously, I would have been even more impressed if the media showed some consistency on this issue. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn’t resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline...

She (or most likely her ghost writer) is actually using Facebook to publicly complain about her employer (News Corp.). I wonder if she's allowed to do that in her contract.

It'd be awesome if this got her fired from Faux, but somehow I doubt it would happen.

I get Sky on my satellite receiver and they did a 5 minute segment earlier about this & were mocking her.

They were saying her "base" won't care because all they care about is domestic 'policies', but as far as her reputation in the rest of the country is concerned, she's going to have a very hard time living this one down, lol.

Now, 'sanction' is a tricky word.

As a verb, it means to approve:
1: to make valid or binding usually by a formal procedure (as ratification)
2: to give effective or authoritative approval or consent to

So, technically, she twice put herself on North Korea's side. Perhaps she doesn't know what 'sanction' means as a verb. But in that case, she shouldn't try to use it.
