TSA worker accused of assault did jail time for stalking, harassment
Source: Raw Story

<snip>

A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employee accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Georgia has also spent time in jail for stalking and harassment, an investigation by WTSB-TV has found.

Randall Scott King, 49, was left in critical condition when he attempted suicide Tuesday evening after allegedly abducting, and sexually assaulting a woman, then giving her a suicide note to deliver.

<snip>

After a review of Clinton County court records, WTSB-TV's Tom Regan found that "King was charged with nine offenses of harassment and stalking by communication in January 2001."

A court clerk told Regan that King pleaded guilty and spent three months in jail for skipping a court appearance.

The WTSB-TV reporter found that misdemeanor harassing and stalking is not included on the TSA's long list of "disqualifying offenses."

1. Not a disqualifying offense?
Exactly who do we have touching our private parts here? That is just great.

3. That's something to think about isn't it?
Who exactly is going to want a job that involves groping thousands of strangers? I'm sure that in this economy the vast majority of them are just desperate for work, but it does seem like the job would attract a few people who have less than honorable motives, doesn't it?

6. Scary. King feels up some woman he finds attractive, harrasses her and stalks her.
Sounds like those two offenses should definitely be a reason to not hire a person.

4. They should all have background checks before they are hired.
Many of us already have to have them.

unless they've changed it recently.

12. Isn't this great, and it's not the first 'homeland security guy' who
with serious issues who has been attracted to the government's program of abusing travelers. Don't have time right now, but there were others.

Shameful that we even have to deal with this. When the cure is worse than the desease it really is time to stop the cure.

But the money being made from 'fear' will keep these abuses going until the citizenry says 'enough'.

Some go for years successfully molesting and not getting caught.

16. Meanwhile, unemployed people get turned down for jobs
that don't require the public's trust, when their credit rating is less than perfect.
