9. Perhaps releasing the files instead of hyping it for a week would have been a better idea
Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 11:48 AM by jberryhill
Saying "I'm going to do this on Sunday" is a pretty good way to attract disruptive attention.

If the docs are what they are cracked up to be, then you don't need to spend a week saying "this is big stuff!"

Telling the whole world "hit my site on Sunday" is going to look a lot like a DDOS attack when it happens.

I've been wondering about that myself.

Why not just go ahead and spring the fucking leaks?

15. Wow.
What a presumption that 'our' government -- that is controlled by the mega-transnational corporations and the lobbyist-military-industrial complex -- is working on 'our' behalf.

Didn't Vietnam, Watergate, NAFTA, impeachment, the Iraq War, and the the Crash of 2008 teach you anything?

28. Do you know how cheap and easy it is to buy a botnet to strike a DDoS attack?
Anybody can buy one for under a grand that will bring some major infrastructures to their knees. Your post upthread that said "Give it up White House" implies that they are behind this and that's just silly.

Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 01:20 PM by jberryhill
...is a great way to get millions of http queries looking for your site.

Duh.

On Christmas day, when everyone unwraps their new computer or Ithing, watch what happens to Apple and Microsoft as soon as all of those devices start looking for updates. They've gotten better, but Microsoft was dang near taken out that way a few years ago.

27. oh..the drama

DDos attacks go on everyday..not to mention that they would have a incremental # of people trying to get their site today...that could look like a DDos..or simply not enough bandwith? I wonder who hosts them?
