Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 12:05 PM by dixiegrrrrl
wikileaks, which is under denial of service attack, says:

El Pais, Le Monde, Speigel, Guardian & NYT will publish many US embassy cables tonight, even if WikiLeaks goes down ( less than 10 seconds ago via web )

1. I'm sure wikileaks will get the stuff out too and not leave it to those outlets
to scrub, cover and minimize.

Thanks Dixiegrrrrl.

4. These outlets are supportive of wikileaks, actually.
which is why, as I understand it, Wikileaks is using them, precisely because they no doubt
anticipated the denial of service attack.

7. Absolutely, these wiki folks have been brilliant in covering all the bases
Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 12:25 PM by flyarm
They certainly will not leave anything in the NYTimes hands without backup..they have worked too hard and for to long to tell the world the truth...to leave anything up to the NYTimesofpropaganda.

15. I have to assume the NYT is being pressured by the USG
to not publish certain information. Those with any curiosity can easily find the truth elsewhere.

8. going to be an interesting day, looks like.
Rather, evening.
Wikileaks did not say what time zone they were referencing in their
comment the cables would be released"this evening".

9. Found this

We don’t like Sarkozy?

From the inside articles, scanned by Symor Jenkins (page 1, page 2), we learn that the US have a snitch inside the German government, a member of the liberal FDP party. German chancellor Angela Merkel is described as “rarely creative and risk-averse”. Revelations about the German government go into so much details that Spiegel writes that

“The US is better informed about the secrets of German politics than German politicians themselves.”

Risk averse? Is that diplo-speak for “has maintained good economy”?

My guess is they were referencing European time which would make it soon for us. I'll see if I can find anything so I can rearrange my sleep accordingly. Bookmarked for your updates :hi:

6. Is Haliburton and Xe Blackwater salivating at the possibility of a war with
Korea and Iran? That would take the media heat off of the Wikileaks subject matter.

12. Wikileaks twitter page is weird. The times remained the same for over an hour
Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 01:17 PM by Catherina
El Pais, Le Monde, Speigel, Guardian & NYT will publish many US embassy cables tonight, even if WikiLeaks goes down
1 minute ago via web

Just now it updated and reads 1 hour ago. There's a new tweet that says

Please use #cablegate to discuss the pending US Embassy cables release.
15 minutes ago via web

Does that seem odd to you? That it didn't update for over an hour and now everyone's being directed to #cablegate? Who's #cablegate?

Edit to say, I I think #cablegate is El Pais.
