1. Last night, they were showing Breaking News from Tuesday.
My husband got shook up, turned up the sound, listened for five minutes, then asked me: Why are they showing last Tuesday's news as breaking?
I grabbed the remote from him, muted it and told him: It's a holiday weekend, and there's nothing new happening. They're just filling air time.

4. I call them the most Rusted Name in News.
This situation could get very hot very quickly, but they probably just have a skeleton crew today. Should anything "break" many vacations will end early. :hi:

10. I could never wish for that. My father served in Korea.
Came home with a medal, malaria, and a broken spirit. They have been saying that it's to show that the new Dear Leader is as strong and nasty as the old Dear Leader. I'm worried.

7. Sometimes laughter is the only medicine that works
My wife was a comedian for as long as I can remember, weaned on Firesign Theatre and Spike Jones. I've dipped my toes into amateur stand-up largely because of her, but I always appreciated humor, myself.

This is just to let you know why I resort to this sort of thing sometimes.

11. Very few Information media organzisongs have any foreign correspondants.
Thirty years ago, some guy on a phone in South Korea would have called the foreign desk and it would have been out quick.

Now, well you have to wait for AP or Reuters, and then some low level news reader who probalby had long weekend has to read the reports. He calles his boss, who is probalby busy with his mistress. When that boss waeks up, they slowly move up to breaking news.

CNN and other informatio media outlets are designed to move money efficiently to investors not move information that matters ot the eyes of their customers.

13. Don't forget that this is still Thanksgiving Weekend.
Normally not much happens that the mainstream media cares about on this weekend. The parades, the football games, and that's about it. They are just not geared up to respond to much of anything happening, especially if it's outside the major centers, NYC, DC, LA, maybe a couple of others.
