The stupid make my head hurt:
From a discussion board regarding the Wiki leaks:

"I would hope that those responsible for our wars would, at some point in time, think about the responsibility that they have for lives when they invade countries which never attacked us."

The response:

"So far I do not see where we have attacked any country which has not attacked us. What on earth was 911. What was (almost) the Christmas Eve bomber, what about the Federal Building in Oklahoma, what about the World Trade Center initial bombing, and lastly the attempt in Portland at the Christmas tree lighting. ALL of these have been traced back to and admitted to by Jihadists. Are we supposed to sit back and let them kill us and not do anything. The USA did not start this. Iran did (or citizens of Iran). HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU SAY THEY NEVER ATTACKED US???"

17. Reads like "no-info".
I mean, 9/11 was mostly comprised of Saudis, not Iranians.

3. The biggest threat to our country's future is IGNORANCE.
Americans are becoming more and more ignorant by the day. We don't need to focus all of our resources on homeland security, national defense, wars abroad or the virtual fake war against terrorism. We need to declare war on ignorance. That will be what causes the demise of our country before any outside threat.

10. The actual threat to democracy is apathy.
Apathy is death.

20. You're right of course, but... an analogy...
Apathy and ignorance are walking side by side with each other on the path to oblivion. Apathy suggests those afflicted by it could have the proper knowledge, but do nothing to properly inform themselves. Most Americans are woefully ignorant to the point they seem to be proud of it. Although every person on earth is ignorant of one thing or another, right wingers in this country seem to like to flaunt theirs. They don't even try to search for pesky things like truth, facts or even reality. They reject anything that doesn't come from faux or right wing radio.

But right wingers are not the only ones mired in ignorance. Our population seems to put more importance on Snookie, Paris Hilton or the reality show world than putting forth the effort to be good, INFORMED citizens. Thomas Jefferson would be saddened at the level of ignorance (and apathy) of the American people today. He thought it was crucial to the survival of our country to have a well educated and informed citizenry.

Native Americans used to frighten herds of buffalo to the point they would stampede mindlessly over cliffs. And then they'd use the carcasses for food, clothing and shelter. Faux and right wing radio are using fear, hatred, racism, anger and hate to do the same thing to their listeners. Unfortunately, when they mindlessly run over a cliff they will be taking the rest of us with them.

Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 03:51 PM by kestrel91316
Of course, McVeigh was a kinda sorta christian jihadist.....

Oh, and I thought IRAQ was behind 9/11 - that is why we invaded them. You know, that whole Saddam thing......

9. It's a fairly common claim about him on the right, actually
They claim he was brainwashed while in the Gulf or something like that.

Claiming OKC was Iran is ... impressive, though.

6. Oklahoma City??? And if we are going to retaliate for 9/11, why didn't we invade Saudi Arabia, where
the huge majority of the men involved in 9/11 came from??????

I can see why this would make one's head hurt..and stomach ache.

13. No, you have it backwards.
It was Afghanistan, not Iran, that's why we went to war with Iraq.

I know, it's confusing.
