John McCain Compares Sarah Palin To Ronald Reagan

During an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) drew a comparison between Sarah Palin and former President Ronald Reagan when asked about his 2008 presidential running mate being seen as a divisive force in American politics.

"I think anybody that has the visibility that Sarah has is obviously going to have some divisiveness," explained the longtime senator to CNN's Candy Crowley. "I remember that a guy named Ronald Reagan used to be viewed by some as divisive."

McCain went on to praise Palin for her influence on the direction of the Republican party. "I think she's doing great job," he said. "I think she's motivating our base. I think she had a positive impact on the last election and I'm proud of her."

Palin recently compared herself to Regean during an appearance on Fox News. Just days earlier, Michael Reagan, son of the former president, ripped Palin as "too polarizing to be elected the President of the United States of America."...

while we might believe that Palin is stupid, we have to remember there are millions of people who are just as stupid in their political views, and will vote for Palin, regardless. For them, Palin sends a message that means something to them, and she has the charisma to make her run for president a viable one. She's nothing to all of us here and Dems everywhere, but we can't deny, unfortunately, that she's popular and conniving.

We're already plummiting toward a nether region of mediocrity, and now we're going to be faced with an untenable regime of batshit crazies like Angle, O'Donnell, Miller, Buck and Palin. If this is the "core" of the GOP, I think it's time for the US to be at the bottom of nations in the world of powers to be.

The neocons saw/see the US taking over the world a nation at a time, but they neglected to tell the rest of the pukes their plan. Now, how can a nation with the extremes of the far right remain a superpower? The answr is, they can't, unless they want to plunge the world itself into a private paradise for the richest people, with millions of slaves and hired workers. That's the depths they want to assert, and people like Palin et al are leading the way to that end. Intelligence doesn't matter anymore.

Over the past couple years we've seen McCain transform into the ultimate grumpy old man. First it was his 180 flip-flops to get that coveted Presidential nomination, then the crash and burn in the General. Then there was his selection of Mooselini that was a knee-jerk action to jump start his morbid campaign. It worked in the short-term but cost him in the end. It also made him very bitter...generally does to all Presidential losers.

Now he's had to fight for his Senate seat and went full teabag in the process. He just doesn't care...only going for the reaction rather than doing anything with true conviction.

To piss on Palin (and the visual is not a pretty one) would be to admit he made a mistake...grumpy old men NEVER do that.
