Florida Legislatures move to block health care
Look at the photo. The smug bastard in the background just says it all. However, Seniors voted for these people, so what can you do?

TALLAHASSEE – On his first day as Florida's new House speaker, Rep. Dean Cannon took a clear shot at President Barack Obama's new health-care reform law.

"Should it really be the role of government to require people to purchase a health insurance product they don't want, raise taxes to give that same product to others who can't afford it, and commandeer our state government and its resources to carry it out?" Cannon, a Winter Park Republican, told House members after being sworn in two weeks ago.

"Or, should we work to limit government and empower the private sector?"

On numerous fronts, Florida policymakers have already answered that question.

1. Idiots.
They don't care about the people. They care about corporate profits. That should be abundantly clear to anyone with half a brain.

4. Being that much of the US is ignorant and elect their politicians I'm not
surprised at anything anymore. This is what the fools wanted so that is what they're probably getting. And in congress the next 2 years is going to be an absolute mess. I guess America did so well under Bush not a small number would like to repeat it again. Me, I've given up on the US amounting too much ...

surprised at how many Americans vote and support the level of incompetence in general. IMO individuals running for congress and higher offices should have to pass some level of competency test on operational knowledge of how the gov. works. I also think that the level of unbridled capitalism we've had with deregulation has produced behavior that borders on sociopathic. I'll definitely not sit on my butt, but I've just lowered my level of expectation.

2. I thought all THAT was empowering the private sector's
choke hold on government.
