5. I wonder how many people who supported Wikileaks' months ago when they leaked

classified Bush documents are now calling for Assange's punishment. The other side of the coin: How many that wanted him hanged then are okay with the current leaks, since they seem to embarrass the Obama admin? Personally, I think the law, as it is written, should take precedence. If he has actually committed espionage and treason, according to the law, then he should get no clemency. If not, leave him alone.
In addition, yesterday's "denial of service" attacks on Wikileaks were simply attempting to shut the barn door after the horse has escaped.

8. Well, I'm against war, torture, corruption and violence

It's kind of boring, but usually a quick check of my bedrock principles leads me to where I'm going to come down on any particular issue. I'm not all that picky about who's "embarrassed" that their illegal activities come to light; I would like the wrong-doing investigated, the evidence developed, and the perpetrators tried and if found guilty, punished.

In a lawless society, that's dangerous thinking.
