Why do we let them play us?
Edited on Mon Nov-29-10 08:31 PM by senseandsensibility
We, especially the "we" here on DU, know that the corporate owned media and politicians can't be trusted. WE ALL KNOW IT. Yet we let them divide us, using propaganda that should be obvious to a third grader.

Put more simply....working people are not the problem. The more people with good jobs, the better for all of us. We need to stimulate the economy and put people back to work. We all know that.

Don't let your envy of someone else's job or benefits blind you to that. I've been unemployed, underemployed, and worked without medical or vacation benefits many times. Occasionally, I did feel envious of others with what I viewed as "cushy" jobs. But I never wished for their wages or benefits to be frozen or cut. I knew that in the long run, that would do nothing to benefit me.

We all know that, right?

1. Why don't you need a lid for your bucket when you go crabbing?
You can't fix stupid and we are so far down the rabbit hole at this point, I'm not sure if it is even possible to stop the fall (not that anybody is trying to).

LOL. Well, no, I'm not really laughing out loud. It's funny, but I've about had it with the laugh to stop from crying thing.:-)

7. I've moved on to acceptance.
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

I suppose that it is barely possible to reverse this course, but the few I see that would try are kept far away from the power to do so.

Talk about black comedy...

4. There might be a good reason for this freeze
Yet I don't see that here.

And in the private sector it would be much easier for it to happen.

5. You don't see that where?
Here? On DU? I don't think it's reasonable to expect it to be. IF there's a "good" reason, isn't it up to the person doing the freezing to express it?

6. Freeze opposed to Cuts - yes for the short term
I'm sure the "Cat Food Commission" is recommending HUGE cuts among the Federal work force followed by outrageous "No Bid Private Outsourcing Contracts"
