Pay increases for Federal workers would be a damn drop in the bucket.
One this non-union (but guilded) private sector would gladly pay.

I've been considered a cheerleader for the President here and I still thank my lucky stars that my dolt Senator didn't win the election. But really--Why not raise their pay? I know that the RW was bitching and moaning about lawyers and such (do they know it requires a degree in law to meet the minis for the CIA?)

Surely, sir--surely you didn't let FAUX News get to you.

Say it ain't so, sir; say it ain't so.

2. I see no problem with raising the pay of our Federal workers.
It would probably put more money into circulation too.

3. Exactly--and federal wages tend to set the standard for like jobs in the private sector.
A rising tide, and all that...

5. Are you sure that everyone on DU saying exactly this
would not be condemning a raise when so many people are unemployed, etc., blah, blah, blah? When SS recipients did not get a COLA raise?

I'm seeing here a symptom of the fact that many just prefer to be outraged no matter what.

6. I'm not saying anything beyond what you've read.

I've been an enthusiastic Obama supporter since the election--but he dropped the ball on this one.

It's hard for me to say this, but he is NOT on my side anymore. I'm NOT a fed employee, but I know that federal salaries influence the privarte sector and I hate to see any of my brethren suffer. I'm a paraprofessional, so this really hits home.

It's a goddamn drop in the bucket in the long run--but you just keep on being pleased. This was the kicker for me.
