This is beyond the pale for me. (State-level Defections)
http://www.rr.com/news/topic/article/rr/8459870/28104853/Dem_state_lawmakers_defecting_to_GOP_post-election

Staggering Election Day losses are not the Democratic Party's final indignity this year. At least 13 state lawmakers in five states have defected to Republican ranks since the Nov. 2 election, adding to already huge GOP gains in state legislatures. And that number could grow as next year's legislative sessions draw near.<snip>

In Alabama, four Democrats announced last week they were joining the GOP, giving Republicans a supermajority in the House that allows them to pass legislation without any support from the other party. The party switch of a Democratic lawmaker from New Orleans handed control of Louisiana's House to Republicans for the first time since Reconstruction.<snip>

Living in a state controlled by a Republican Supermajority for much of the time I have lived here I can tell you without reservation that a one-party system is a surefire path to destruction.

I really feel for the people who elected these Democrats and now find themselves under the yoke of the GOP.

1. I'm sure they're only thinking about their constituents, not.
They're going for the money and power.

2. Not a doubt in my mind.
Nothing is about governance and leadership anymore. It's all greed. Insatiable hunger for authority and resources.

3. I say good riddance to them.
The more conservadems that defect the better off the party will be in the long run. I wish they would all leave.

6. I agree they need someone to represent them, but considering their...
party-affiliation at the time of election it just smacks of a form of fraud to me.
