Breaking News Alert: Pentagon report: Repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell' law poses little risk for military
November 30, 2010 11:50:35 AM
----------------------------------------

The Pentagon's long-awaited report on gays in the military concludes that repealing the 17-year-old "don't ask, don't tell" law would present only a low risk to the armed forces' ability to carry out their mission and that 70 percent of service members believe it would have little or no effect on their units, according to sources briefed on the report's findings.

The way they did when Jews joined in the 50s, blacks in the 60s, and women in the 70s!

19. Just about.
They even said the "risk" would come from the change being enforced through the courts and not legislatively, and they urge Congress to act asap(I'm paraphrasing here).

Rachel was just on MSNBC. I have a feeling her show is going to be really good tonight. I love the way she is able to dissect things.

7. Now Repukes and Blue Dogs opposing the repeal have nowhere to hide
This report makes it clear that continuing DADT goes against the will of the military and the civilian population.

21. But we have to cater to the bigots
So there will be another six months of pointless posturing, during which time President McCain will go on every other Sunday talk show to explain how crucial it is that the United States and the military and everyone else has to acknowledge the fee-fees of homophobic bigots, and it just wouldn't be right not to continue to allow them to drive policy in the United States.

Do you want the terrorists to win?

and Obama should suspend its enforcement. And in the hands of a more GOP-ish congress, I'm still not optimistic about it getting repealed.
