Is it now illegal to DISCUSS the online attacks?
I gather that: +

"Some (web)sites have received federal court orders to cease any further online documentation of the attacks, which targeted Visa, Mastercard and other financial companies who froze Wikileaks accounts, a source close to the situation tells us."

<http://gawker.com/5709789/noose-closes-around-pro+wikileaks-vigilantes>

Huh?

What the hell is "online documentation of the attacks"? Are courts now giving the FBI and the U.S administration the power to shut down mere discussion of the ddos attacks on enemies of wikileaks?

If so, this has to be a low point for the Obama administration's record on free speech.

And if the people supporting WikiLeaks are prevented from attacking the parties who are preventing Wikileaks from revealing war crimes and lies, what happens then?

Does Obama think they will back down or go away, or that they will take steps to
bring the whole Internet down?

And if they do this, is this actually what the U.S administration wants to do?

As in: if a free and open Internet means that our war crimes will be revealed, then we will allow it to be shut down, and then rebuild it so it is no longer a free and open platform for free expression?

3. No, the low point of the Obama Administration on free speech is Holder vs Humanitarian Law Project
When he and Kagan made it illegal to speak with anyone deemed a part of a terrorist organization if you intent to "aid" them by conducting a interview with them and publishing it (aka, journalism) or "aid" them by giving them legal advice, even on the Geneva Conventions.

5. Yikes.
Okay, so maybe it's just another low point.

My only point is raising the matter of the Obama adminstration here at all is because people here seem to be thinking that the attack on WkikiLeaks and whistleblowers are coming from nameless law enforcement agencies without acknowledging that the Obama White House is in charge of and responsible for these agencies.

8. It's totalitarianism.
Totalitarian regimes or movements stay political power through an all-encompassing propaganda disseminated through the state-controlled mass media, a single party that is often marked by personality cultism, control over the economy, """regulation and restriction of speech""", mass surveillance, and widespread use of state terrorism.

14. I think it's more technical than that
There are more-or-less hidden messages on some web servers that are part of the control system for the botnet (this has always been true of botnets; people suddenly care now).

15. Lol, I think wikileaks was prepared for all of this. After all
they've been reading these documents for a while now. I guess the next target would be the next organization to try to cut them off and anyone who threatens Assanges life and/or freedom. That seems to be who they are attacking.

17. What ELSE is illegal to discuss?
"Government of the Wealthy, by the Wealthy, and for the Wealthy"?

Inquiring minds want to know -- and so do those who believe in Democracy.
