Sen. Sherrod Brown's petition site is crashing

He was just on Ed's tv program asking people to go to http://www.sherrodbrown.com/ to sign his petition to the White House regarding the tax compromise bill.

The page can't load on Firefox or IE. I guess he's getting a lot of traffic.

23. I'm sorry, myrna.... I know how painful it is to be betrayed.

I wasn't one who had any "hope" at all in this administration, and the first choices he made before he was evenn inaugurated said it all for me.

However, I know that others wanted to have "hope", and I know it hurts.

What's important now is to grieve, then put your energies into Movement Politics!

The issue of poverty could certainly use some adherents---there will be a lot of people expiring shortly, and there need to be new people coming in and strongly hoisting the banner!

I will always support efforts to end poverty as we know it. I am haunted by a conversation I had with a man on a street corner one cold day in Minnesota. He was hungry, but I had no cash or anything to offer him, but he said to me, thank you for *seeing* me. :cry: I am haunted by that to this day. Everyone matters and that we can disregard human beings, especially those who need us the most makes me ache.

I keep reminding people to put us poor folks on their "priority lists", and usually just get an angry response.

We are supposed to smilingly accept our invisible status.

When we get "uppity", we are smashed.
