It would make no difference in my opinion. Firstly, Many of these men are gay and secondly, I have rarely seen marriage be an answer to men's problems. Most of prostitutes customers are married men . The Prostitutes on the West side of New York ore supported largely by married men from New Jersey who have to get laid . Look at the recent high profile cases of monkey business ; Clinton, Edwards , Spitzer,Craig and Sanford all married men ! Marriage is something invented by Judeo Christian nonsense. Human beings are not Canadian Geese, they do not bond for life without a lot of compromise that this generation is too selfish to make, they are frivolous creatures who like variety......... so No, don't think it would help !

Also it is more of a sin to have consensual sex with a woman than young boys.

I questioning the assertion "most." That is a huge claim. It means that more than 1 of every 2 priests is gay. I don't buy it. Not without reliable numbers.

Because I do. And if you're interested in this sort of thing, I have a wonderful book for you to check out. It's called "Christianity" and it's written by Diarmaid McCullough, who is one of the most brilliant historians of our time. It's written from a historical perspective rather than a faith perspective, so it blows holes in a lot of the beliefs Christians hold most sacred. Oh, and by the way, it's about 1,200 pages long, so set aside a good chunk of time to finish it.

Originally, the Vatican held a vote on whether or not to allow the underling priests to marry (because, you see, it doesn't say anything about the issue in the Bible anywhere--shocking, right?) In the end, it had nothing to do with faith or religious dogma. Back in those days, whenever a person died without any heirs (heirs like, oh I don't know, say a wife or children), all of his property automatically was granted to..................say it with me, now............THE CHURCH!!! So it had everything to do with the Church acquiring property and nothing to do with faith or religious doctrine. Just a great big money-grab by the Vatican, and nothing more. And yet it's viewed as sacred religious law these days. Funny how often we discover that that kind of thing is happening, isn't it?
