Then Obama may very well end up with making the deficit look better by 2012, and that may be what he intended all along, without "appearing" to want to raise taxes on EVERYBODY to help fix the mess caused by 2 wars and the bank bailout left by bush.

He had to know that Dems, and a lot of republicans, weren't going to like the "compromise" deal, and he may have even prepped Pelosi to lead the rebellion, so that all the taxes would go up, and bring in some revenue.

:shrug: Just wondering aloud if this wasn't the plan. After all, who wants to go around pledging to raise taxes on the whole country even when they know it has to be done?

The deficit is not going to go down.

And the Republicans will successfully SKEW this argument that they had NO involvement at all, never met with President Obama, never EVER admit that they had ANYTHING to do with this bill.

Everyone from Morning Joe, to Anderson Cooper, to Rush will then continue to state the same thing "Obama did it all on his own as an Executive Order" - and President Obama takes the blame for the deficit being so high.

I would like politicians to say what policies they really plan to do, and try to do what they say.
I can understand, circumstances change, but please explain, before I find out the hard way,
the circumstances, and what can be salvaged of the policies.

We have a short term problem which is the recession and a long term problem which is the structural deficit. You can't solve the latter before solving the former. It's physically impossible. The defecit is a symptom of the recession and not the cause. It would be like cutting off your head because you have a migraine.


I think two courses should be mandatory to get any college degree- Poli Sci 101 and Economics 101. Then we would be spared this tomfoolery.
