I like the Senate filibuster-good politics, informative... Does it threaten the rest of the agenda?

I'm not sure what we're supposed to expect as a result of this. I'm out of the loop.

Is it Sen. Sander's intention to talk until he gets what he wants?

Is he looking to replace the bill with anything or does he just intend to block it from any vote? How successful might that be?

Or, is he just going to hold the floor for a time until he feels he's made his point? What's the effect on the other items Senators hoped to get a vote on? A protracted filibuster might provide cover for those who don't want those other items to proceed and who may claim time for all of that has been taken away by the time spent for Sen. Sanders' lecture (which, btw is must-hear material).

Wondering what to make of it all.

4. DeMInt, as Understand it...

is opposed to extending Unemployment and other "liberal" ideas that are not paid for by cuts to the budge in other places. Typical Republican bullshit.

From what I've read, they don't agree with each other on the reason to filibuster. They are allies of convenience.

Limbaugh even has come out against the Bush/Obama Taxcut for the Rich bill for the same reason.

in accordance with Senate rules. Unless he declares a filibuster and forces procedural votes, this speach means nothing and the bill will sail on to passage over the Senator's no vote.
