Bravo to Bernie Sanders and Kudos to Sherrod Brown and Mary Landrieu |
|
I enjoyed the participation of Senators Brown and Landrieu in Bernie Sanders' historic (and extravagantly entertaining) Tax Cut Filibuster. This is an event for the history books.
Brown was articulate and on-point as always; Senator Landrieu was inexplicably charming as she tried to agree to the extent possible without damaging her hard-won reputation as a fairly conservative Democrat. But I loved the colloquy and I thank them both for giving Senator Sanders a little well-deserved break.
It would be nice to see more of our Dem senators lend a helping hand to Bernie Sanders. It is almost a shame that more people are not present in the Senate Chamber on this amazing day.
But this is an amazing event, and I will be up all night if necessary because I do not want to miss a moment of this.

1. Figures that after all of the Republican threats to fillibusters-- |
|
which were not carried out because Dems never forced them to actually do it--the first real fillibuster would be by someone who caucuses with them.

An amazing day indeed. Can't wait to see this place when Nacy announces her deal with Barack.

5. Moderate Dem, not my favorite |
|
but it's just amazing to see her held up here now as a heroine at a place she was so despised.
On the basis of one issue, a lot of people have changed their opinion of her and Obama. Of course, next week the wind may change direction again.
