With the theory being that we will simply be doormats and just roll over for Obama because we've got no other place to go. They seem to forget that campaigns aren't run and funded by moderates. They are run and funded by true believing hard core liberal activists and we will be happy to put our money and our sweat equity into a liberal Democrat who will listen to us in 2012. I see no point in donating $1000 and spending 1000 hours on a guy who will take my money and my time during election season and then not listen to me after he is elected. If he wants to throw my principles overboard and refuses ro fight for them then the Democratic replacement I back WILL. If we lose then so what? If the winner wasn't going to represent Democratic principles and fight for them either way then I'd rather enforce party discipline and have electeds learn something about loyalty and accountability to the party from which they begged for support.

This isn't new. This isn't an Obama thing. This is how I treat all candidates and electeds from school board water board county commission city council mayor state house governor Congress Senate and President. If the candidates aren't going to support my liberal policies then I have no incentive to spend my time and money on them. I can find plenty of other ways to spend my money: on a replacement candidate or by doing what a lot people do spend it on having a good time for myself with toys vacations flying planes or many other things I used to do before becoming politically active.

and shows that winning isn't everything......

I don't share your POV, but still.....Good for you! :applause:

Of course this is not an Obama thing,
cause you've had his back repeatedly all the way until
late January of 2009 or so! I remember that well! :patriot:
