Where is Howard Dean?
Want somebody who could run a legitimate campaign in the Democratic primary?

Where has Gov. Dean gone?

6. Dean was a fantastic DNC chairman
I'd love for him to get his old job back and see Tim Kaine fired.

As a campaigner, however, Dean was terrible. This guy went from being the 2004 front runner to total collapse in a matter of two weeks.

7. He wasn't the front runner until the end of Nov, early Dec 2003
and his collapse began after he told Chris Matthews that he'd breakup the Telecom and cable monopolies.

9. Yes, his campaign collapsed in a 10 day news cycle that went and ran
"The Dean Scream" for 24/7 on every one of the major news channels.

You'd have thought he had killed someone.

And it turned out that the whole "Scream" thing was digitally amplified - he hadn't screamed at all.

But when the Powers that Be want to take you down, they do it.

10. My point exactly

Dean was sandbagged by the media, and he couldn't handle it. That says something about his viability as a candidate.

If you can't handle the media's bullshit then you aren't getting elected to anything.

12. Hmmm, in mid seventies , I may have agreed with you.

But there is nothing you can do about this as a candidate. Nothing.

And when they decide to do this to Obama, it will take him down too.

I left the USA on May 18th 1979. the last headline I saw at the airport in Chicago was "Carter has unusual, and extreme popularity." He had an approval rating of over 55%.

And the story was all about how popular Carter was.

However over that summer-
The price of oil went skyrocketing all summer. (You don't think the Oil owned By and also friendly to Bush family had much to do with that, do you?) Carter got negative headlines letting the American public realize that he was a weak person failing them economically.

Again, this took place 24/7.

And banks kicked interest rates up to the high teens.

First headline I saw in Chicago when I returned home from Europe in late July 1979 - "Carter's popularity stands at 16%"

They will take down anyone who is hurting them. And Carer, with his solar tax credits, and his innovations, was hurting "THEM."

11. Living his life.
He put himself "out there", and was rebuffed.. He then headed up the DNC, did a great job, and was once again rebuffed..

He's a plain-speaker, and that's almost taboo..

We could have had him, but ..well you know..

I don't blame him for stepping back..life is short.. why not spend it doing things for people who appreciate your efforts..
