I've been through this myself with a recruiter. He was excited by my resume until he found out that I was laid off. So if you are collecting benefits, be aware that it will be twice as hard to get an interview. Try to do some kind of work in your field to keep your resume active. The unemployment offices should be set up so people can contribute their skills to stay active and keep the moral high.
The money helps, but we really need assistance to get new jobs!
