From the Huff Po....A Poem of Lamenting

'Twas the night before christmas, when all through the House and Senate,
Most of the Democrats were working to the unemployed a benefit.
Those out of work prayed with family and friends,
in hopes that money for shelter and food would soon be sent.

The children were nestled all 3 in one bed,
while horrors of no christmas played in their heads.
And mama in tears and I on my knees,
all we could do was cry out, please, lord, please.

When all of a sudden began a Republican rant,
if no tax cuts for the rich, then hell no you cant!

Our millionaire­s, our billionaires­, and or corporate friends,
need more tax breaks or everything else comes to an end.
Screw the unemployed­, the middle class, the working poor,
its tax cuts for the wealthy that we need some more.

Backed into a corner
what would the Democrats do?
Fight to the end
or give in to fight anew.

They said "the hungry shall not starve nor the children go without,
even though America knows this is not the right route.
But the Republican­s have no feelings, no morals, no soul,
so it's up the Democrats to ensure there is food in their bowl.
