Bushes removed at play ground so you won't find dead homeless people in them anymore
# In South Boston, moms lobbied the city to remove bushes at Flaherty Park after a mom discovered the days-old corpse of a homeless man in the hedges. The city put in floodlights to deter teenage drinking at the M Street park and refilled the sandbox, too — all because of moms. The MOMS Club, whose mission is moms supporting moms, has 155 moms and 233 kids, up from 106 moms last year.

# In Jamaica Plain, moms convinced the state last month to remove $53,000 of recycled rubber mulch and replace it with wood mulch at three new parks because 1-year-olds were eating it or tracking it home, and some worried about its toxicity. It cost the state $6,000. The group has more than 2,000 members.

# In Charlestown, moms got the city to add an extra grade at the Warren-Prescott school because of high demand. They convinced the city to renovate the dingy Rutherford Union Playground — now it’s one of the neighborhood’s best.

2. As we all know, it's not that a homeless person died and no one cared...
it's that they found the body in a bush in the park.

Can't even have a decent place to die. What a sickening country we have become.

4. Yeah, better to just let the body rot & decompose
instead of being found quickly. Not to mention sparing anyone the trauma of discovering the body in the first place or, a crime was committed, finding the murderer.

3. My mom teaches first grade and she only has 14 kids in here class
because parents got involved and forced them to add another class so that there was a better teacher student ratio. When parents get involved, great things can happen, and when parents don't give a fuck you get what we have not (not that all parents don't care but alot of them don't.)

5. It would
have been nice if the moms would have used their numbers and voices to lobby the city for a homeless shelter or some other program to help the homeless. It seems extremely callous to me to find the dead body of another human being and your only concern be to have the bushes removed so another person can't use the area to sleep and possibly die and be found by yourself or your child instead of being concerned with the fact that people are being forced to sleep in the bushes and be exposed to elements and starvation.

7. Why aren't these moms paying for these things themselves? At least in the case of mulch
I don't think wood mulch is much better than rubber mulch but whatever.

Just another case of entitlemoos.
