Don't know how, and I won't be around to see it. None of us will.

But in the long run, I do think the Socialism that Marx spoke of WILL have to exist. It is the only way to manage such large numbers of people

3. There may be no "America" at that time, or there might be
Prognosticating now, I'd say it wouldn't

But things change

4. Well yeah, but those seem to implode
Think Stalin, Beria, Hitler, Goebbels, Martin Boerman

When an empire is built on hate that seems to be the result

Think about the Post-Stalin shambles the USSR was in after all that

They never recovered, just shook their saber a little and then the wall came down

5. The human race will be extinct in 50 to 100 years. Then it will get much better for other species.
FRANK Fenner doesn't engage in the skirmishes of the climate wars. To him, the evidence of global warming is in. Our fate is sealed.

"We're going to become extinct," the eminent scientist says. "Whatever we do now is too late."

Fenner is an authority on extinction. The emeritus professor in microbiology at the Australian National University played a leading role in sending one species into oblivion: the variola virus that causes smallpox.

6. Personally, I don't think we will face complete extinction

Even in the worst cases, we'll find a way to preserve about .05% (all of them rich or scientists of course, think Strangelove) and then go underground

KInd of like a Boy and his Dog if you will...

"Workers of the world unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains."

9. He sure as hell was right about the failures of capitalism
I don't know how or when but capitalism will fall because it based on false assumptions that are disproven time and time again, and if the workers of the world unite (which appears to be happening again to some extent in Europe and elsewhere) then the people may have a fighting chance.

11. Dead on
He predicted this.

Granted, his solution was impractical - but Marxism is not the end all of Socialism

Socialism is evertyhing from government assistance to encourage employee ownership of companies to, well, Maoism.

There is a solution, or several rather, in between the two

12. Socialism lost. Only mixed market economies exist these days. That is what won..a mix
of market types.

13. Socialism lost because assholes made it into a dirty word
Socialism will be back - there is no other plan that can work in the future
