Don't even think of standing up to these people. You don't have a chance. It doesn't matter how cold and calculated they may be, they cannot be defeated.

Surrender all.

Everything will be better once we climb that Big Rock Candy mountain. Maybe in the spring? Maybe two years from now? Our appeasement will be rewarded. Because we are not ready to sacrifice an arm and a leg for political expedience. We prefer the comfort of the known. We like our taxcuts. No, we love our taxcuts. How dare anyone suggest we sacrifice those for the common good?

It is much easier to surrender.

Fighting is only a word used by idealists that cannot see the world as it really is. We have no power. We are defeated.

It will not get better. It will only get worse. But we can rest comfortably knowing that we got to keep ours - at least for today. Nothing else is important.
